Research Network Grant funding available: up to £10,000
The RSA welcomes research from any discipline contributing to advancing our understandings of regions and regional development. We adopt an open and plural definition of regions, focusing on dynamics of regional (subnational) change whether this is in global megaregions or more remote, peripheral locations. Key characteristics of research in the RSA portfolio is research that has impact, asks critical questions about data and methods, and pushes the scientific frontiers of theoretical and conceptual development. EANS RESEARCH FUND (up to €10,000)
We aim in particular to nurture young researchers who are developing a research career. Applicants should be either neurosurgical trainees, research fellows or junior consultants (5 years or less). The awards will be available to neurosurgeons in all member countries of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies to encourage European cooperation and collaboration. The principal named applicant must also be an individual member of the EANS.
The fund provides seed grants across the various neurosurgical specialties addressing operative neurosurgery (microsurgery), brain injury, vascular neurosurgery, oncology, spine surgery, functional neurosurgery, peripheral nerve surgery, cerebrospinal fluid disorders, paediatric neurosurgery and pre-clinical neuroscience. Audiobox Responsible Generation Grant (up to $50,000)
Researchers who are interested in accessing Audiobox models to advance Responsible AI and/or audio generation research may apply to this grant.
Through this grant, the FAIR (Fundamental AI Research) team at Meta will provide:
Access to Audiobox models and relevant code artifacts to groups of researchers at academic institutions and research labs

We’re looking for research led by and aligned with the priorities of Indigenous communities that embodies and contributes to the advancement of health equity, self-determination, and identity affirmation for Indigenous Peoples. Additionally, projects should center the needs, experiences, and strengths of Indigenous communities, such as thriving in the face of historical trauma; be reflective of Indigenous worldviews and concepts of knowledge, health and wellbeing; and be able to inform a specific course of action and/or establish beneficial practices. Non-renewable grants of up to $7,500 USD are available on a competitive basis for research projects conducted by early career members who completed their degrees in the past five years, regardless of their appointment, institution or country of residence. Please note that, for the 2024 cycle, eligibility has been extended for one additional year (due to possible COVID-related research delays). Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers (up to £30,000)
Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers offer funding of up to £30,000 to cover the cost of research consumables. The grants allow research-active Clinical Lecturers to gather data to strengthen their bids for longer-term fellowships and funding.
To develop your grant application, £2,500 is currently available to fund up to five public and patient contributor’s time and expenses. Use of this funding is not mandatory to apply for a Starter Grant. Click here to apply

Ph.D. Assistantship - Remote Sensing of Invasive Plants, Oklahoma State University

They are seeking a Ph.D. student for a funded project to (1) develop models for remote sensing of invasive plants in grassland ecosystems, (2) identify climatic controls and atmospheric situations conducive to invasive plants spread and establishment, and (3) identify habitats vulnerable to biological invasions under future climate scenarios using species distribution models (SDM).
The applicant will work closely with Dr. Hamed Gholizadeh and Dr. Saber Brasher at Oklahoma State University.
Qualifications: • Masters’ degree (at the time of appointment) in remote sensing, ecology, environmental sciences, geography, plant biology, engineering (environmental), climate sciences or other related fields with relevant research or work experience (e.g., remote sensing, species distribution modeling, spatial modeling, climate sciences) • Programming is expected to be the core for remote sensing data analysis. Therefore, having previous experience and knowledge on how to code (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) is ideal. Strong research or work experience in remote sensing • Ability to work independently • Excellent written and oral communication skills • First-author peer-reviewed publications • Background in statistical methods
