2024 MMRF Scholars Research grant Program (up to $400,000)

The MMRF believes that we can make more research progress and achieve better outcomes for patients if the researchers and care teams for myeloma patients are more representative of the patients they serve.

The MMRF Scholars Program will provide financial support for qualified Black and African American researchers and clinicians (MD and/or PhD or equivalent degree(s)) currently active, or interested in pursuing a career, in the field of multiple myeloma.

Awardees will be provided with up to $400,000 of financial support over 4 years ($100,000/year) plus 10% indirect costs (total award $440,000) to support their career development as researchers in multiple myeloma from post-doctoral to first tenure-track position. Click here to apply

Research Grant on Advancing Therapies Towards Curing Oncogenic-Driven Lung Cancer. (up to $2.5million)

New York, NY (January 11, 2024) – The Lung Cancer Research Foundation announced today that, in partnership with the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, submissions are being accepted for the $2.5 million, four-year award, titled IASLC-LCRF Team Science Research Grant on Advancing Therapies Towards Curing Oncogenic-Driven Lung Cancers.

Proposals focused on the specific goal of curing oncogene-driven lung cancer should be submitted by teams of researchers with a program of closely integrated projects that would not otherwise be realized by a single component from the team.

FARA's General Research Grant /Graduate Research Fellowship & Postdoctoral Research Award (up to $275,000)

The General Research Grant is open to qualified investigators proposing projects that fall within FARA Research Priorities.

FARA offers a Graduate Research Fellowship. This competitive fellowship provides 1 to 3 years of support for individuals engaged in graduate study leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree (or equivalent). FARA will award up to 3 Graduate Research Fellowships per year. For this application type, the PI/applicant of the grant proposal is the graduate student. Applicants need to be matriculated in the chosen graduate school and have a chosen thesis adviser at the time of application.

FARA offers a Postdoctoral Research Award as a mechanism to expand and retain young investigators in the FA biomedical research space. For this application type, the Postdoctoral trainee is the PI of the grant proposal. Applicants must have completed at least 18 months of postdoctoral training. Eligible applicants are postdoctoral trainees with fewer than 7 years working as a postdoctoral trainee, accounting for career disruptions. Click here to apply

2024-25 NC Space Grant Graduate Research Fellowship and Undergraduate Research Scholarship

North Carolina Space Grant has opened its signature funding opportunities, the Graduate Research Fellowship and the Undergraduate Research Scholarship, for applications for the 2024-25 academic year.

Research grants open for UK pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

A number of grants from Pharmacy Research UK (PRUK) are now open for application, including full funding for a full-time PhD studentship.

The PhD Studentship Award is being trialled in PRUK’s annual funding round for the first time in place of its Research Development Awards. It is designed to support the salary, tuition and research costs associated with undertaking a full-time or part-time PhD.

Also included in the 2024 PRUK funding round and open for application are:

Research Training Bursaries (two levels of funding) for UK registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who have an interest in developing their skills in conducting research relating to everyday practice;
BOPA-PRUK Research Award, designed for pharmacy professionals to undertake research projects in translational and health service related to oncology and haematology pharmacy;
CMHP-PRUK Research Award for pharmacy professionals to undertake practice research for the benefit of patients with mental illness.

From 2024, all UK registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are eligible to apply to the PRUK schemes. Click here to apply

Arboriculture Research Grant 2024 (up to £5,000)

The Arboricultural Association offers a grant to support research into a relevant arboricultural topic on an annual basis. Applications are invited for funding of up to £5,000 for projects based within the UK. The grant will be awarded at the discretion of the Arboricultural Association to support work considered appropriate. Click here to apply
